Four Teachers Won the First Micro-Teaching Competition of Shandong

Chen Fengqiang of Business Management Department and Yang Chao of International Trade Department both took the first prize in the First Micro-Teaching Competition for College Teachers of Shandong. Zhang Zongying of International Trade Department and Liu Na of College English Department were awarded the second prize.

Chen Fengqiang’s Practical Training of Concessions in Negotiations presented his teaching process on making concessions in negotiations from the course of Business Negotiation. He also invited Manager Cui Ying, an off-campus instructor of Business Management Department, to assist his teaching. Yang Chao’s Procedures on Changing and Processing E-tickets showed how to change tickets for passengers by introduing cases of ticket agents. How to Complete the Letter of Credit Application by Zhang Zongying explained how to fill out the application of L/C in light of real work scenarios in foreign trade practices. Job Interview by Liu Na illustrated how to handle job interviews in English by adopting the task-based and interactive teaching method with the aid of multimedia. The four works above were spoken highly by the judges.

The First National Micro-Teaching Competition for College Teachers was hosted by the Online Training Center of Higher Education Institution Teachers under the Ministry of Education. The second round competition in Shandong was held from March to July, 2013 with 2,256 entries, of which 150 were awarded the first prize, 226 the second prize and 303 the third prize. First prize winners were recommended to compete in the national finals.
