On September 12, the second group of exchange students departed for Taiwan Hsuan Chuang University, where they would study for one semester. Head of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office Ms Cui Wei saw these students off at Qingdao Airport.
When the exchange program was publicized, quite a number of students submitted their applications. Eventually, five students were selected as qualified members of the second group. Before their departure, these students made preparations for more than two months, including selecting courses in advance and sending documents for official approval. The International Exchange and Cooperation Office held a meeting to explain some requirements of the exchange program. At this meeting, Ms Cui Wei expressed her hope that the students should value this learning opportunity to experience local culture and customs, and in particular, she emphasized the importance of safety to the students.
An agreement on academic exchange and cooperation was signed and a program about SFTC students’ short time study in Hsuan Chuang University was also drawn up by SFTC and Hsuan Chuang University in November 2013. The first group of six students began their short time study in February 2014, and six months later they successfully completed their programs and came back to SFTC campus. After their return, these exchange students shared their experience in study and culture with other students.
