A meeting of Business English Program Construction Committee was held on Nov 23，2014. Industry experts, college and department leaders and teacher representatives attended the meeting.

In the meeting, Mr. Zhou Houcai, Vice President of SFTC, delivered a welcome speech and presented Letters of Nomination to the 6 industry experts, who were nominated as program construction consultants. Mr. Chen Xiangguo, assistant president and Dean of the Business Foreign Languages Department, briefed the consultants on what have been done on program construction. From the viewpoint of the enterprises, the consultants offered their valuable suggestions. They noted that to cultivate qualified talents, good moral character and humanistic literacy should be highlighted. SFTC should help students to build love, dedication and team spirit and intensify their sense of social responsibility. The development of comprehensive competence and professional abilities, especially the cross-linguistic communicative competence，should also be reinforced. Since foreign language aptitude was the key ability for international business jobs, it was imperative to strengthen the listening, speaking skills and other core courses. A correct view on jobs should be established. Students should have a correct understanding of their future jobs and foster a down-to-earth working style.

The experts suggested the program shall offer more optional courses and academic seminars to help students acquire the basic knowledge and skills on e-commerce, accounting, law etc. They also gave other helpful advices on the construction of program culture and teaching staff.
