Professional English Proficiency Test (TOEIC Bridge) was developed by the American Educational Testing Service (ETS). It is a proficiency test of professional English designed specifically for the initial, intermediate-level English learners. As the only international test accepted and recognized by the Chinese government, TOEIC Bridge Test has been widely used in recruitment and training, overseas expatriation and internal selection among government departments, large state-owned enterprises, multinational enterprises and organizations. Each candidate of the Test will receive a Certificate of Professional English Proficiency, issued by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of PRC and a test report issued by ETS. The Advisory Committee of Foreign Languages Teaching in Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education introduced the Test into all of the vocational colleges in China as of April 2014. An English placement test using the TOEIC Bridge sample test paper was held for all 2014 freshmen of SFTC.
