On December 25th, President Diao Jiandong was elected Deputy Director Member of the Steering Committee of National Vocational Education of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade (NVEFERT) and Director of the Instruction Committee of Business English Majors at the conclusion of the annual meeting of college presidents.

Commissioned by the Ministry of Education, and organized and managed by the supervisory bodies or industrial organizations, the industrial steering committees for vocational education are advisory groups of experts to conduct research, offering consultation, guidance and service for the vocational education of different industries. They are also tasked to offer guidance on the vocational education and training of respective industries. Currently, 53 such steering committees have been set up, of which the Steering Committee of National Vocational Education of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade, consisting of six subcommittees (including Steering Committees of International Business Majors and Business Foreign Languages Majors), is spearheaded and supervised by the Ministry of Commerce with Mr. Sun Yunxun, Director General of Human Resources Department, as the Director.
