Recently, the Ministry of Education (MOE) released its second approval list of 2019 National On-line Teaching Resources Bank Projects. The On-line Teaching Resources Bank for Business English Program, co-initiated by SFTC and Guangzhou Institute of Technology, was successfully included in the list. The success was a breakthrough for both colleges in their bids for the national honor. The Teaching Resources Bank boasts as the ONLY of its kind in MOE’s list so far.
The National On-line Teaching Resources Bank Projects are jointly initiated and fiscally sponsored by MOE and the Ministry of Finance (MOF), aiming to pool together the leading faculty, the high-quality teaching resources, the latest technology, and the best on-line service in the country, so as to provide support to China’s vocational education and sharpen its capability to better serve the country’s development.
The On-line Teaching Resources Bank for Business English Program was first launched in 2016 and had strong support from the Advisory Committee of Foreign Language Professional Teaching in Vocational Education of MOE, Shandong Provincial Department of Education and Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. The project has had great attention and support from SFTC’s administration team, various departments and cooperative colleges and enterprises.
So far, more than 9 million yuan has been invested in the project. As of the end of October 2019, a total of 11,996 on-line teaching materials and items have been created and uploaded onto the operating platform, well serving its 38,394 registered users from colleges and enterprises all over China.
As the project is approved, the working team from the Foreign Business Languages Department shall work even harder as per the request from MOE and try to provide high-quality teaching resources for the users.
