Recently, the Ministry of Education of China announced the results of its "Action Plan for Innovative Development of Higher Vocational Education (2015-2018)". Shandong Foreign Trade Vocational College (SFTC) was successfully enlisted into the 200-strong National Vocational Colleges of Excellence. At the same time, 10 Academic Programs, 1 Teacher Training Base and 2 College-enterprise Collaborative Innovation Centers of SFTC were awarded as National Key Programs for Vocational Education, National "Dual-qualified" Teacher Training Base and National College-enterprise Collaborative Innovation Centers. The Key programs include International Trade Practice, Customs Clearance & International Shipping, Tourism Management, Electronic Commerce, Business English, Accounting, International Finance, Software Technology, Finance and International Business. The Teacher Training Base was on E-Commerce. The 2 Innovation centers are the Applied Technological Center of International Business, and the Applied Technological Center of Free Trade Zone.

The Action Plan for Innovative Development of Higher Vocational Education (2015-2018) was an important measure taken by the Ministry of Education to implement the Decision of the State Council on Accelerating the Development of Modern Vocational Education. In recent years, to build a college of excellence, by deepening the reform of education and teaching, improving the ability of technological innovation and service, and expanding international exchanges and cooperation, SFTC has continuously enhanced its contribution to the economic, social and industrial development of the local community, and thus having increased its influence.

Winning the Title laid a solid foundation for SFTC and it gave the college more impetus to build a higher platform for its future fast development.
