On Nov. 5 a delegation from Taiwan Hsuan Chuang University paid a visit to Shandong Foreign Trade Vocational College (SFTC). The four guests, Dr. Zeng Guangrong, vice-president of Hsuan Chuang University, Mr. Zeng Guoxiu, secretary-general, Dr. Chen Weizhi, dean of the School of Communication, and Mr. Xiao Yicheng, head of Extension Education Center of Continuing Education Department, were accompanied by Mr. Wanglei, director of Foreign Affairs Office of Qilu Normal Institute, and Mr. Ma Lin, programme supervisor at Overseas Study Service Centre of Shandong Province.
Party Secretary Mr. Wang Rongchang, Vice Principal Mr. Zhou Houcai, Head of General Office Mr. Li Xing, Head of Foreign Affairs Office Ms. Cui Wei and Deputy Head Mr. Wang Yingxi met the delegation.
Party Secretary Mr. Wang extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced the characteristics and recent development of the college. He pointed out the advantages and the prospects of cross-strait cooperation in education from the aspects of culture and education exchange and expressed the willingness to cooperate with Taiwan Hsuan Chuang University.
Vice-president Dr. Zeng gave a brief introduction to Hsuan Chuang University and relevant policies about enrolling students from mainland China.
Director Wang Lei introduced the development of cooperation between Qilu Normal Institute and Hsuan Chuang University.
Ideas on students’ short time study and mutual certification for credit hours were exchanged. An agreement on academic exchange and cooperation was signed and a tentative programme about SFTC students’ short time study in Hsuan Chuang University was also drawn up by both sides.
During their visit, the delegation went on a tour of the college library, the college history gallery, the practical training building and etc.
Hsuan Chuang University is located in Xiangshan District, Hsinchu City, Taiwan Province. With funds pooled by Buddhists, it began to recruit students in 1986 and was accorded formal university title and status by Taiwan education authorities in 1993. At present, the university is composed of five schools, including School of Communication, School of Design, School of Management, School of Humanities, and School of Social Sciences. Some majors have qualifications for recruiting postgraduates and doctoral students.
