On December 9th, 2013, a delegation led by Chairman Chanchai and Dr. Bang-Orn from Bangkokthonburi University (BTU) visited our college, with the mission of instructing the teaching and laerning of Thai language course, and signing a cooperation agreement with the College . Mr. Lu Xuezhi, China Affairs Consultant of BTU, Mr. Chen Zhenkun, Chairman Assistant of BTU, and Madam Panadda, Director of Secretary-General’s Office were also with the delegation.
A discussion meeting was held in the No.2 Conference Room in the library building. Chairman Chancha introduced about the organization and structure of Bangkokthonburi Education Group and the features of BTU, and then he encouraged students to work hard in Thai Language, while extending warm welcome for them to further their study in BTU so as to make their due contribution to the strengthening of Sino-ASEAN cooperation. He expressed great appreciation for the students’ enthusiasm and diligence in studying Thai language and decided to increase the number of candidates, who can be granted full scholarship while studying in BTU, from 2 to 4.
The discussion meeting was attended by Wang Rongchang, Party Secretary of the College, Diao Jiandong and Zhou Houcai, both Vice President of the College, Cui Wei, Director of Foreign Affairs Office, as well as 24 student reps and two Thai teachers.
After the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed between BTU and the College, covering Degree Top-up Program, Short-Term Study Program, Student-Exchanging Program, and Scholarship Program.
After that, Mr. Wang Rongchang illustrated to the students about the economic development of ASEAN in recent years, and the progress that has been made in the Sino-ASEAN relationship. He also called on the students to grasp all the opportunities available to familiarize themselves with foreign culture in order for the perfection of international communicative ability.
Then student reps consulted about the studying of Thai language, Thai culture and the program of studying in Thailand. They expressed high respect and appreciation to the two Thai teachers for their diligent attitude and easy-going teaching style.
The cooperative relationship between the College and BTU was established in September, 2011. During the past two years, mutual understanding has been ever strengthened by several visits of teachers and students from both sides. In October, 2013, the College dispatched two teachers, Cheng Cheng and Li Yu, on a mission to teach Chinese to BTU.
The signing of the cooperation agreement is a significant milestone, showcasing the strengthening of mutual cooperation and hand-in-hand development between BTU and the College.
