Shu-Te University Delegation Visits SFTC

On May. 13,a delegation from Taiwan Shu-Te University paid a visit to Shandong Foreign Trade Vocational College (SFTC). The three guests, Mr. Chen Qingyao, vice-president of Shu-Te University, Prof. Qian Shiqian from Department of International Business and Trade, and Miss Dai Shufen, head of International and Cross-strait Affairs Office were warmly received by the faculty and staff of SFTC.

President Diao Jiandong, Vice Principal Zhou Houcai, Head of Foreign Affairs Office Cui Wei, deans and teaching faculty of the relevant departments of SFTC attended the reception. In the meeting, President Diao first introduced to the delegation characteristics and development of SFTC in recent years. He also expressed the faculty’s willingness to cooperate with Shu-Te University. Mr. Chen Qingyao, vice-president of Shu-Te University gave a brief introduction to universities in Taiwan, and in particular preponderant majors and faculty and staff of Shu-Te University as well as its exchange and cooperation programs with a lot of universities in mainland China. Frank discussions were made on teachers’ academic visits, students’ short time exchanges and mutual certification for credit hour between Shu-Te and SFTC. An MOU between the two sides was signed at the end of the meeting.

During their stay, the delegation met secretaries and counselors of all departments in SFTC and introduced in detail to them the curriculums of all programs, teaching facilities, student management, as well as characteristics and preponderance of Shu-Te University. The delegation, accompanied by the college management, went on a campus tour of the Alumni Expo, the History Exhibition Center of SFTC, the Civil Aviation Training Center and etc.

Shu-Te University is located in Yen Chau District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. In August 1997 the Shu-Te Institute of Technology was founded and the institution was renamed Shu-Te University after obtaining accreditation from the Ministry of Education in Taiwan. Thus the institution becomes the first of its kind in southern Taiwan, a comprehensive university renowned for its Art Design and Information Management programs, featuring excellence in humanity, creativity, design and research.
