On March 3, Professor Cornelius Pratt, Dean of the Strategic Communication Department, Temple University, USA, paid a visit to SFTC. President Diao Jiandong met the guest.

After meeting, Professor Pratt lectured on ‘International Business: a broad understanding of East-West communication styles’. Students and teachers from the Business Foreign Languages Department and the Department of College English attended the lecture.

The theme of lecture was to discourse cultural differences in the globalization age between the East and the West, the cross-cultural conflicts，the impact of communicating style, and especially the high- and low-context cultures for international business communications. Actual business communication cases were analyzed during the lecture. The audience was moved by Professor Pratt’s passion, colorful cases for successful business communication and the wonderful communicating styles employed in his lecture.
