On October 26th, the seventh "FLTRP Cup" National English Writing Contest released the results of Shandong Province's Preliminary. Meng Ting, a student from the International Trade Department of SFTC, won the grand prize of Non-English Major group and would represent Shandong Province to compete in the Final, which would be held in December in Beijing. Cui Xiao from the Business Foreign Languages Department of SFTC won the second prize of English Major group.

The Shandong Preliminary was held at SFTC on October 23rd, who chairs Shandong Vocational Program Construction Committee of Foreign Languages. A total of 154 contestants from 65 colleges in Shandong Province participated the preliminary.

Ms. Li Shujing, Director of the Vocational Education Branch of FLTRP, and President Diao Jiandong, Executive Deputy Director of Shandong Vocational Program Construction Committee of Foreign Languages, representatives of the judges and contestants addressed the opening ceremony. Vice President Zhou Houcai hosted the meeting.

The contest is divided into two groups -- Non-English Majors and English Majors. The contest for both groups includes two writing tasks, each takes up 50% of the final score, and the contestants shall finish their writing in 120 minutes. After fierce competition, 12 Non-English Majors and 4 English Majors were selected to represent Shandong Province to attend the National Finals.
