On November 2nd, SFTC President Diao Jiandong and Richard, Governor of Butalega district, Uganda, a China-Aid program trainee from the Seminar on Greenhouse Vegetables Cultivation Techniques in 2018, visited Jiaozhou and met with Mr. Li Baoshuai, deputy mayor of Jiaozhou.
Mr. Li Baoshuai welcomed the delegates on behalf of the Jiaozhou city government and briefed on Jiaozhou’s local economy development, trade and pillar industries. Richard introduced the districts of Uganda and Butalega and expressed his willingness to cooperate with Jiaozhou in city planning, technology, investment, trade and other fields. The two sides reached a consensus to expand exchanges through official visits and training, and to promote trade and investments through exchanges of business delegations. The delegates also visited the 61-km2 SCO Demonstration Zone in Jiaozhou.
President Diao and Richard held another meeting with Chanyu Xianli, Deputy Director-General of Qingdao Bureau of Commerce, discussing about introducing more Uganda enterprises to Qingdao for trade and investment cooperation. An MOU on trade, education, cultural exchanges and training and development of human resources, was signed between SFTC and Butalega by President Diao and Richard after the meetings.
