Dominican Guest Visited and Lectured at SFTC

On the afternoon of May 23rd, Doctor Ivan Ernesto Gaton Rosa, President of the Regulatory Commission for Fair Trade and Safeguards of the Dominican Republic, visited SFTC and delivered a lecture entitled “China's Influence in Latin America” for the college’s teachers and students. President Diao Jiandong attended the lecture and the event was presided by Mr. Chen Xiangguo, Director of the Office of International Cooperation programs.

Doctor Ivan analyzed the historical evolution of relations between China and Latin American countries, and introduced the current cooperation between the two sides in terms of trade, investment, and tourism, especially the new changes brought about by the “Belt and Road” Initiative to Latin America. He interacted with the teachers and students at the end of the lecture. President Diao introduced the cooperation between SFTC and the Dominican Republic, expressing his appreciation to Doctor Ivan’s contribution to the establishment of the partnership between SFTC and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Dominican Republic. He also appointed Doctor Ivan Honorary Professor of SFTC and conferred the certificate.

Doctor Ivan was also invited to attend the “2019 China (Qingdao) International Forum on Vocational Education and Rural Sustainable Development”, a high-end international forum hosted by the Department of Education of Shandong Province.
