“Coming-of-Age Ceremony” Held in Tai’an Campus

At 7:30 am, January 8th 2018, teachers and students of Tai’an Campus attended the“Coming-of-Age Ceremony” and the Flag-raising Ceremony.

 

At the ceremony, the National Flag gradually rose up gradually with the solemn National Anthem. 52 students went through the “Coming-of-Age” Gate, a sign of adulthood indicating independence and maturity. Mr. Wei Siqing, Deputy Director of Tai'an Campus Management Committee delivered a speech at the ceremony. He introduced the purposes and the significance of hosting the “Coming-of-Age” activities, and expressed his hopes for the attendants to be  responsible, tolerant and kindhearted. He hoped the students shall learn and respect the rule of law, learn to think and study, and to make greater progress in the future. Mr. Wang Wenyong, the student section chief, mobilized students for the coming final exams.

The purpos

es of holding “Coming-of-Age” ceremony lie in cultivating students' outstanding characters like gratitude, self-reliance, self-confidence, self-discipline; letting them remember history, inherit cultures, contribute to the society; enhancing their senses of morality, responsibility, awareness of the law the ownership of the society; inspiring their outlook towards the world, life and moral values. In recent years, hosting a “Coming-of-Age” ceremony once every year has become one of the important measures for strengthening the ideological and political education on Tai’an campus.

 

Student Guards for the National Flag team and the student representatives from Class 2 of Accounting, Grade 2017, who ranked first in the Class Quantitative Assessment in December, jointly assumed the task of the flag raising.
