SFTC Signed Cooperative MoU with Sri Lanka’s National Institute of Labor (NIL)

A MoU on HR training cooperation was inked by President Diao Jiandong and Devilla, NIL Director at SFTC’s Shinan campus on April 27, 2019. Rajapaksa, NIL Secretray, Sennakon, former NIL Director and current Commissioner of Prisons and Wang Baohong, Head of SFTC’s ChinaAid Office witnessed the signing event.

The MoU stipulates that SFTC provides training to improve the management ability and technical skills for Sri Lankan government officials and the personnel from public and private enterprises, and builds a cooperative platform between Sri Lankan and Chinese enterprises specialized in manufacturing, trading and other fields. The year of 2019 will be seen as a pilot year, carrying out 2 training sessions on project management and training management once every half year. The two sides agreed to appoint liaison officers for further communication to make sure the first training shall be launched in late May.

As a non-profit organization under direct guidance of Sri Lankan’s Ministry of Labor (ML), NIL aims to improve the skills and qualifications of the Sri Lankan labor through education, research and training.

Guests from Sri Lankan ML and NIL also visited Qingdao Changhui Pipe Co., LTD, Tencent Creative Space and CRRC and were impressed by Chinese manufacturing, innovation, internet development.

Signing the MoU is an important step SFTC takes to implement the BRI Initiative, and to promote further cooperation between Shandong province and Sri Lanka in HR training, manufacturing and other fields.
